Allow me to extend my deepest gratitude to You personally and the Gilead Science Inc. for continued support and fruitful collaboration, which entailed unprecedented initiative - Hepatitis C Elimination Program in Georgia. With dedicated efforts and valuable support of the Gilead Science Inc. HCV diagnostics and treatment with latest drugs became accessible to Georgian population and HCV burden in our country is gradually being eliminated.

Currently, the major challenge of Georgian Government, as other part of the world, is the novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID_19). We are taking all necessary activities to efficiently prevent and control dramatic spread of COVID_19. However, considering existing epidemiological situation in other countries, we should be prepared for the worst case scenario. Therefore, our great intention is to be engaged in the study of Remdesivir for the treatment of the patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome of COVID-19.

On behalf of the Government of Georgia, I would like to kindly ask you to consider the possibility of engagement in this process and please, provide us with further recommendations.
